In March 2002 Gary was arrested by the police. The "black hat" used his robbery skills to "research" his beliefs and the evidence of UFOs an infinite source of power, on US government computers. He did not do so out of boredom, but out of curiosity and thirst for hidden information. Maybe this cybercrime is serious, but it is forgiven. One could not break into a computer program because it was boring or to prove something, we did not want the truth beyond that.
Jonathan James
Jonathan James' story is sad, yet his life can be compared to a comet - short, but bright. In 1999 a 15-year-old boy joined the Bellsouth and Miami-Dade school network. Jonathan James destroyed NASA Systems, costing $ 41,000 to repair systems. Clearly, he did much damage. Stealing software from NASA worth $ 1.7 Million is a major computer crime. He did not seek knowledge or justice, he sought money ... As they say, never speak ill of the dead. Jonathan James was sentenced to six months in prison and banned from using the computer, but that did not stop him from committing suicide.
Kevin Poulsen
